What data does EMP collect and why?
Engineered Marine Products collects data taken from user’s computer when the site is visited. These include visitor’s IP address, browser used, device used (mobile vs computer), operating system and geographic location. This is collected to help spam detection, preventing attacks on the EMP server and also for site analytics that will help us make the site better.
What does EMP do with my personal data?
Personal data collected when visitors leave comments on the site, fill out registration forms, or otherwise voluntarily provide is used by EMP to build our database of contacts in the industry and of potential customers who may be interested in sales, promotions, new products or other communications from EMP. Anyone who does not wish to receive marketing communications, may opt out when registering as a site user or email us to be removed at any time.
How can I find out what data you have collected about me?
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data collected by the system automatically and you have provided to us. Requests are handled when time allows, so it may take up to 10 days to have the file sent to you.
How long will EMP keep my personal information?
Provided Information | Information such as name, address, email, etc. are kept in the system database and will remain there while your account is active. After one year of inactivity, however, your account and corresponding data will be deleted.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Who else has access to data collected by EMP?
We respect our customers’ privacy. All data collected by EMP is for use by Engineered Marine Products use only. We do not share or sell your data with any 3rd party company.
